Roubidoux Fly Fishers was and is the first stream team in Missouri. We are proud to be Steam Team # 1.
The lower Roubidoux creek is our project stream. Members also help maintain area streams by volunteering their time with other Missouri stream teams. Water quality testing is conducted on the Roubidoux Creek and Spring creek in an effort to monitor the stream condition.
One of the projects we helped the Missouri Department of Conservation with, was building Sky Hooks for improved habitat for wild rainbow trout on Mill Creek. We also participated in planting trees to help stabilize the stream bank.
Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing Inc. is a program that is dedicated to the physical and emotional rehabilitation of disabled active military service personnel and veterans through fly fishing and fly tying education and outings. Roubidoux Fly Fishers are proud to be associated with this great project.
Casting For Recovery
A National 501 (C) (3) Non-Profit organization, supports breast cancer survivors through a program that combines fly fishing, counseling and medical information to build a focus on wellness instead of illness. The Roubidoux Fly Fishers have tied up several hundred flies and donated the flies to the Casting for Recovery program.
We like to help as many youth and service programs as we can. We make presentations about fly fishing , water quality and conservation of natural and free flowing streams.
We also volunteer to help our Missouri Department of Conservation with environment improvement projects.
We are committed to water quality monitoring of our home water, the Roubidoux Creek and we also do water quality monitoring on Spring Creek.
